EPIX BEGINS WIDESPREAD ROLLOUT OF ITS ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT PLATFORM
FIRST BROAD-SCALE DEPLOYMENT OF AUTHENTICATION
Cox, Mediacom and Charter Debut Online Access to EpixHD.com in June and July
New York, NY June 16, 2010 – As online video viewership is steadily increasing and technology leaders champion the proliferation of mobile devices as an emerging means for media consumption, EPIX™ announced today that it is rolling out the first broad-scale deployment of subscriber authentication to enable online viewing. The premium multiplatform entertainment service has launched its online platform, EpixHD.com, for Cox Communications and Mediacom Communications customers and will introduce authentication with Charter Communications in July.
Now, in addition to viewing the linear channel and SVOD offering of over 150 HD and SD movies each month, EPIX subscribers will have access to the entire lineup online, including new releases Star Trek, Shutter Island, Precious and Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself, classic franchises Raiders of the Lost Ark and Godfather and A-list music and comedy artists Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, Lewis Black and David Cross.
Charter, Mediacom and Cox launched the EPIX channel and SVOD service in April and are supporting the introduction of the third platform, EpixHD.com, with launch marketing campaigns that include free previews in June and July.
