EPIX Signs Distribution Agreement With Mediacom Communications

Mediacom to Launch EPIX in April 2010

New York, NY, January 13, 2010 – EPIX™ announced today that Mediacom Communications, the nation’s seventh largest cable television provider, will begin distributing its multi-platform premium entertainment service to its customers in April 2010. EPIX is the premium entertainment joint venture formed by Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B), its Paramount Pictures unit, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) and Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), which provides consumers the latest Hollywood movies, 15,000 films from three of the top motion picture libraries and cutting-edge original programming on television, on demand and online, exclusively in HD and SD. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

EPIX offers a linear channel, on demand service and online service at www.EpixHD.com, which enables Mediacom consumers to watch more than 150 films and additional programming in an online, on demand format at anytime and anywhere. EpixHD.com offers studio exclusives, behind the scenes footage and movie extras as well as access to an innovative online screening room feature which enables consumers to invite up to four friends anywhere to watch movies while they chat online in real time.

Movie and entertainment offerings from EPIX that will be available to Mediacom customers across multiple platforms upon launch in April include blockbusters Star Trek and GI Joe, the cult hit Paranormal Activity, Tyler Perry’s highly successful film franchise – Madea Goes to Jail and I Can Do Bad All by Myself, critically acclaimed Precious plus music and comedy all-star specials like Madonna Sticky & Sweet: Live from Buenos Aires and Sam Kinison Back from Hell featuring Chris Rock, Denis Leary, Jay Leno, George Lopez, Norm Macdonald, Kathy Griffin, Jon Lovitz and many others and Tough Trade, a new series in production starring Sam Shepard, Lucas Black and Cary Elwes.

Further, EPIX has made the commitment to deliver the industry’s most expansive online collection of movies, making more than 3,000 titles available online to subscribers via its enhanced service EPIX Megaplex.

The joint venture controls all rights to EPIX’s programming and Viacom provides operational support, including marketing and affiliate services through its MTV Networks division.
